Two feared dead as building collapses in Kano
Two people died and two were injured in a building collapse in Kano State.

According to Daily Trust, the incident occurred on Thursday at around 2am in the Nomansland area in the Fagge commune during heavy rainfall.

According to reports, the two-story structure collapsed due to flooding of a nearby water canal.

Saminu Yusif Abudullahi, spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service, confirmed that rescue operations were underway.

Abdullahi added that the two survivors were currently receiving medical attention.

The incident occurred just after severe flooding in the region.

According to the Kano State Emergency Management Agency, the floods have already claimed 31 lives and destroyed over 5,280 houses.

However, the agency appeals to residents to remain vigilant due to the continuing heavy rains.
