Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene came under attack online after she said a prayer for the victims of the Georgia school shooting.

Apalachee High School in Barrow County was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning due to what authorities described as an “active shooter situation”.

At least two people were killed in the shooting, and one victim was taken to a hospital, CNN reported. A possible suspect has been arrested.

In the post, X Greene wrote, “Please join me in prayer for all the students, staff, and families at Apalachee High School in Winder, Ga.”

X user JoJoFromJerz, who frequently posts anti-MAGA content, pulled images of Greene with a gun from a 2022 election ad that had the text “I will smash Democrats” on the screen.

“But we need ‘more guns,’ right, Marge?” Jo replied to Green.

Another user replied, “In the wake of another mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia, Marjorie Taylor Greene is planning to buy another AR-15.”

Other critics have pointed out Georgia’s “lenient” gun laws following the school shooting.

“We know it’s back-to-school in America because the shootings have already started. Georgia has some of the weakest gun laws in America,” wrote Shannon Watts, founder of the gun control group Emerita on X.

The sheriff’s office said all schools in Barrow County were placed on lockdown.

This is an evolving story.
