The Andaman and Nicobar Command, an integrated tri-service command, organised a two-day ANTech exhibition and seminar in Port Blair on September 2 and 3. The event was inaugurated by Air Chief Marshal Saju Balakrishnan. It was organised in collaboration with CII and SIDM with the aim of strengthening ties between the defence industry and the Ministry of Defence.
The ANTech event showcased the determination of the Armed Forces to encourage technological innovation in line with the theme of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. It provided a stage for various stakeholders to understand the challenges faced by the Armed Forces and propose solutions.
During the event, Delhi-based defence company Aimtrex showcased its new innovations at the two-day ANTECH Andaman and Nicobar Command event. The company highlighted that Aimtrex’s innovations include state-of-the-art indoor shooting ranges and vertical wind tunnels, among other advancements.
“We design and build indoor shooting ranges as per the detailed requirements. Our shooting ranges are completely soundproof and shooters can view the target centre from the display without having to get close to the target, making the process more time-efficient,” explained Aimtrex Spokesperson Sanjay Kumar.
He also noted that Aimtrex manufactures vertical wind tunnels used for paragliding exercises by special forces as well as in shelters for soldiers.
Arjun Naik, founder and CEO of Bengaluru-based Scandron, also spoke at the event. Scandron specializes in logistics, surveillance and custom drones.
“This is the first time we are dealing with the Andaman and Nicobar Command,” Naik said. “We want to show the troops our drone capabilities and understand how we can support their operations. We hope to conduct tests and participate in more events like ANTECH soon.”
ANTech serves as a platform to connect the operational needs of the Andaman and Nicobar Command with the advanced solutions of the Indian defence industry
