Heatwave, thunderstorms in Oregon could worsen wildfire situation this week

A few cooler days may have slowed Oregon’s fire season, but the weather will soon change again, adding fuel to blazes across the state.

“We still have active wildfires in the Willamette Valley and northwestern Oregon,” Jon Liu, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Portland, said Tuesday.
