According to a senior police officer, the incident took place around 3 a.m. when a religious procession was passing through the area.

The injured were immediately taken to the nearest state hospital for medical assistance.

“A temporary tent was set up for the procession. Some people who had gathered tried to climb the tent… it then collapsed, causing minor injuries to around 10 people. All are out of danger,” SP Kumar Ashish said.
