A crash caused delays of almost an hour on a section of the A34 this morning (Tuesday).

The incident resulted in one lane being closed northbound between the M4 at Chieveley and the junction with the A4185 at the Chilton junction.

The National Roads Authority reported that traffic officers were present at the scene of the accident, but a four-mile traffic jam had already formed on the approach to the accident site.

The road is expected to reopen at 10:45.
