Three sailors missing after crashing into breakwater off Connecticut coast

Authorities said the search continues for three people who went missing Monday evening after a speeding boat crashed into the Connecticut River.

The vessel was carrying nine passengers when it struck the Old Saybrook breakwater, WFSB-TV reported, citing Coast Guard officials.

Six people were rescued and taken to local hospitals, the report said. Their condition was unknown.

Officials told Fox 61 that rescuers are still searching for three other passengers who were not wearing life jackets at the time of the crash.
