Jin Sasaki scored a devastating knockout that the referee was unable to stop during Tuesday’s fight against Naoya Inoue.

Japanese boxing superstar Inoue took center stage in Tokyo when he faced TJ Doheny, where he put his undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO super bantamweight world titles on the line.

There was also a lot of good action on the preliminary card.

Japanese welterweight contender Sasaki was particularly impressive.

The 23-year-old entered the fight with a record of 17-1-1.

His Australian opponent Qamil Balla had a record of 15-1-1.

Although on paper it seemed like it would be a close fight, Sasaki was the clear favorite.

His only loss was to top super lightweight title contender Andy Hiraoka.

Meanwhile, Balla was previously defeated by former lightweight world champion George Kambosos Jr.

But in the ring the fight went as expected and Sasaki was clearly better.

Balla endured defeats bravely and always resisted, but ultimately he was unable to cope with defeat.

Sasaki’s versatility in his punch selection was key as he attacked Balla from all sides.

He had broken his brave opponent and the end seemed near when he delivered a body blow towards the end of the sixth round.

Indeed, in the seventh round the fight came to an end.

Sasaki again hit Balla with combinations to the head and body, forcing him to retreat.

Balla tried to hide but was unable to avoid the attack.

As he tried to retreat, he was hit with a left hook that sent him crashing into the ropes.

Referee Michiaki Someya tried to jump between them to stop the beating.

However, he was one second too late and Balla fell to the boards anyway.

He was knocked out and the fight was over.
