A fire that broke out north of San Jacinto spread to 650 acres Sunday evening, prompting authorities to issue evacuation warnings.

The fire, dubbed the Record Fire, was reported in the area of ​​Soboba Road and Gilman Springs Road just after 2:15 p.m. Sunday, initially covering five acres. By 7:30 p.m., the brush fire had spread to about 650 acres and was 0% contained, according to a social media post by CalFire/Riverside County Fire Department.

CalFire has issued an evacuation warning for the following zones: RVC Poppet Flats 1, 2, 3, and 4. North of Wolf Road, west of Partridge Street and Hungry Hollow Road, south of Old Idyllwild Road, and east of Gubner.

The department also said six firefighters were taken to area hospitals with mild symptoms.

The fire department dispatched a large air and ground force to the scene as temperatures in the area reached around 100 degrees.
